Photograph of Scrooby Village, Nottinghamshire, England, from Albert Addison's 1911 text "The Romantic Story of the Mayflower Pilgrims". Caption reads: "Photograph by Welchman Bros., Bedford SCROOBY VILLAGE". In 1607, James I sent the Bishop of York to raid their houses and arrest them. They went first to Amsterdam finally to Leiden, Holland, Netherlands. This was going from an agricultural community to a industrial community. Their children started to adopt dutch customs. They in 1619 obtained a land patent from the England London kamer to settle at the mouth of the Hudson River. They went further north and settled at what is now United Nations, United States, Massachusetts Bay Commonwealth, Plymouth County, Plymouth Town. It seems they may have made a swap with the Nederlands people as they went to the mouth of the Hudson River very soon after this, in 1624 at Noten Eylandt then 1625 to the Manhates Eylandt forming a more permenant fortification.
