When Captain John Smith and other English explored the upper Potomac beginning in 1608, they reported that the area within present Prince William was occupied by the Doeg tribe. The Doegs still maintained several villages in this area into the 1650s, when colonists began to patent the land.

Prince William County was created by an act of the General Assembly of the colony of Virginia in 1731, largely from the western section of Stafford County as well as a section of King George County.[2] The area encompassed by the Act creating Prince William County originally included all of what later became Arlington County, the City of Alexandria, Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, the City of Falls Church, Fauquier County, Loudoun County, the City of Manassas, and the City of Manassas Park (and the various incorporated towns therein). The County was named for Prince William, Duke of Cumberland, a son of King George II.

Saturday, November 28, 2009 - Saturday after Thanksgiving

I found this good map here, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fa/Map_France_1477-fr.svg of France in 1477.  I was specifically studying Clare of Brittany, wife/Queen of Francois I.  In 1516, Francois invited Leonardo da Vinci to come to Ambois where he lived at his Chateau.  Leonardo painted the Mona Lisa and sold this to Francois for 4000 Ecus.  An Ecu is a gold coin.  Yesterday, I wrote this article, Bead and a Penny.  You can read it here, or it can be read here, same thing. :).  http://docs.google.com/View?id=ahvnhwhq2483_141f4hc9kfg.  I also was making or working on the cotillion site yesterday atwww.thecotillion.org.  The girls / debutantes, same thing, they got presented yesterday most likely at the Washington Hilton and Towers near Dupont Circle on Connecticut Avenue.  Friday after thanksgiving, about around 8pm or so, is when the girls are presented by their Fathers or some male in their family, for the most part.

I went to Cotillion as a bachelor Floor committee member in 1993, 1994 in NYC, 1995, 1996, 2005.  I have not been since 2005.

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 - Wednesday of Thanksgiving Week

Installed and have my new computer here up and running, this new computer, Ok, is good. :).

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  The Debutante Cotillion is having dinner most likely at the Rayburne House Office Building and then dancing tonight at the Capital area of the Federal City Washington, in Columbia Territory District, United States of America.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving dinner, and Friday is the Ball, where.  Saturday is Masquerade Ball.  Early Saturday Morning, or early Sunday morning, is the Boxer Rebellion, and hook up time supposedly, although not for me.   so here is tennis in 2 hours, match, first of the winter season.  And then around 6 months from now in May 2010, starts the summer season for the Middleborough Tennis Association, which I won Men's A league this summer 2009. :).

And, update with http://www.life-union.com/0/h/f/a/c/  Last update is September 13, 2009.  First update is November 15, 2007, or initiation. :).

Well, I played this kid today, Dan Chow, in tennis at the lac - Lakeville Athletic Club - LAC, i use lower case letters, so lac.  I suppose I can call or could call it, well, can, lc, but lac is easy to write also.

I noticed a few things today.  I am tired from lifting weights and working out Monday and Tuesday.  My forearms were also tired today from typing so much today.  And with gripping the tennis racquet or the racket or racquet, racket is easier to spell or type on here, my arm was weaker than it should have been if i hadn't typed so much today.

Dan hit his serve very hard and he also hit his ground strokes very hard.  I was mostly on the defensive and I had a really tough time with his serve and return of my shot back to him after his serve.  I have to strengthen myself.

I also noticed that well he brought out his new Wilson K-factor tennis racquets.  He says is the size larger than Roger Federer uses, but still this is a new racket.  I use a tennis racket from 1996, which is a 1995 racket.  A wilson pro staff blue racket, that joe lacerda got when he saw that dick andrews uses a wilson pro staff, when he was going over dick's house in the summer and fall or summer of 1995.  So this is a 1995 racket technology, and in 2009, this is 14 years later.  And also being that I have played with this same racket, i have 2 of them, since spring, or even late winter 1996, say like january 1996 or around here, maybe march 1996 or february 1996, the racket could be mostly dead, meaning that it may or could have many cracks in the frame, and be a lot weaker than the k-factor racket.  So if i upgrade my racket technology, and have new strings for optimal control, power, and durability, I might play much better and handle dan a lot better next time.  Today I won a total of 13 games and dan won 11 games, so for a 13-11 overall total win.  we played for an hour and a half, the match, in reality about 70 minutes or 65 minutes.   i won the first set 6-3.  dan won the next set 6-4.  i was up 3-2 in the 3rd set and we ran out of time.

I broke dan's serve 1 time in the first set.  he broke my serve 1 time in the 2nd set.  i broke his serve 1 time in the 3rd set.  So this was about holding serve mostly.  I have to improve myself a lot for next match.  Also, I haven't played a challenging match, or specifically a league match since September 17 of this year, when I beat Eric Dusseault in the finals of the Middleborough tennis association men's A league.  I have to play a lot more matches, well with this league, maybe I play much more and do better overall, maybe in all my matches, maybe not, but at least do a lot better and continually improve.

Well, it being Wednesday, not sure when my next match is.  It's thanksgiving dinner tomorrow and then maybe this weekend I have another match, maybe next wednesday or earlier, like monday or tuesday.

Saturday, November 21, 2009 - Saturday before Thanksgiving, getting ready. :).

Carolina Hemlocks cedar trees finally mostly cut around the tennis court, my dad and I did this for the past few weeks.

Friday, November 20, 2009

I have to bring my phone back to Lakeville.  I suppose I can bring it back and forth if I want to talk on it here in Raynham.  I do not have a dual and/or networked system up so far.

This (Raynham) is one side of the equation.  Lakeville may be the other side of the equation.  And then strengthening their connection, and expanding, and then moving on in.  Middleborough is north of Lakeville.  And Raynham is northwest of Middleborough.  In the other spectrum, Lakeville is southeast of Raynham, and Middleborough is also southeast of Raynham, but more like East Southeast of here.  And the real raynham, or the old raynham, is west, more like south west or west southwest of here.   This is the crossmann area of the late 1600's, early 1700's.  Carpenters for the forge in 1652.  Before this, is the titicut purchase.  I'm not too familiar with this at the moment, but it is east of the cohannet purchase, which i think is of the crossman's, for john crossman.  I'll look online, maybe there is more of this.

And I need to find more fun things to do.  It's Friday night and I have no plans to go out anywhere.  Maybe going to the tennis club is going out, but well, in some ways it's not going out at all.  And going to the Bridgewater Fitness Center is going out, but it's also not going out at the same time.

And I'm thinking about the library at Trinity College.  Specifically when I got the domain name www.joshualeefreeman.com.  I had not yet got an apartment in Hartford, so this was about mid-February 2006.  I was looking at the apartment in the Bushnell Tower, looking East from the northwestern part of Bushnell Park, from above really, from a picture I saw online, and put this up on my page, with Sunflowers.

The picture was similar to this one.

from http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/01/00/1e/97/travelers-view-from-bushnell.jpg

but not quite this one, I don't think.

I'll do a wayback machine on my website and see what is the earliest saved page of joshualeefreeman.com.  I remember I built it with yahoo pages or some yahoo program.

here's another similar picture.  I do remember the fountain was in the picture.

from http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/01/00/08/c9/bushnell-park.jpg

There is nothing on the wayback machine from February 2006.  I'll look at the whois record to see when I first got it.  I'm guessing February 16, 2006.

Let's see how good my memory is on this.

My memory is perfect in this regards, lol. :).

Interesting.

Well, I am maybe getting used to Lakeville a little more.  I'm about 4 miles south of the tennis club, Lakeville Athletic Club, on Long Pond.  There are tall trees here, and I need to get things moving a little more with certain things, much faster and better, and more comfortable.  Is a challenge.

It's tough finding somewhere to live that I like.  So far every place that I find and move to, I don't like.  Frustrating.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

So today is 9-26 in the Roman or Metonic cycle calendar?  9 meaning Nov, where Nov in Latin is 9.  But this means that it is into the 26th day, this confuses me.

Settling into my new house here in Lakeville, well, renting a house, but is by the lake, and more peaceful and/or is at least quiet here and more relaxing than whre I was last living in someone else's house on the 2nd floor in Taunton.  Not my idea of a good time.  The last few places I was living, I don't know, were too far out there.  This one closer to the tennis club and better, so far, hopeuflly stays this way or gets even better as time goes on. :).

Cut some hedges at the tennis court, my back was hurting.  Got some shells in the woods.  Got a headset again, my headset was broke by Saturday, this past saturday, that wasn't good.

Went to Plymouth today.  Is late, write more later.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Ok, I am trying to figure out what's going on here.  The shells were transported back here finally after about a 15 year hiatus, maybe more like 14 1/2 years or around this time, I remember was about June 1995 from what I remember.  Now, so being November 2009, yep, is around 14 1/2 years.  Time just keeps moving along.  I am 35 now, I was 21 then.  And the wampum making continues.

I particularly like, from the pictures I've seen, the Chateau d'Usse.  I woke up about / around 4:30am this morning.  Was very dark out, quiet.  My kitten was with me, my girl, who knows, I sure don't.  Very upsetting.  But well, I am here, alive, fairly healthy overall as far as I know, and hopefully so, and pushing / moving along.  Have to hope for better days and nights and mornings and wakeups and falling asleeps and sleeps, and wake ups and laying in bed getting ready to start my day.  It is 6:18pm right now.  I am at my dad's desk, in his Geldco aqua blue chair.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Today is one day past the full moon of well, is the beginning of November.  I still have not understood how the Roman calendar works.

It's a little later in the day now, specifically 10:18pm EST.  I just got back from tennis a few minutes ago, maybe a half hour ago or so, the Tuesday Night clinic from 8 - 930pm.  It felt like a lot longer time ago though, with Dave Wilson and Jared Piper.  The Edgewood team from long time ago, Dave Wilson pre-dating Fil Miguel by years.  Dave Wilson taught me tennis lessons before high school, maybe in junior high or before up until i took a lesson a year or two ago now.  I wore my pear outfit to tennis clinic sundays i think it was my senior year of high school, then I went into the military.

Jared Piper I know from after college at Edgewood in the Edgewood Open tournament.  Maybe this was the summer of 1997 or so.  I was tailing out in my competing then, although I may be a stronger competitor from before I stopped competing when I was about 22, or 23, more specifically 22.  Now I am 35 and have been competing since about March of this year.

Last summer I competed at Somerset High School at the Somerset Swansea Tennis Association.  My team won the league out of the 8 teams.  I played 4th and 3rd singles and went undefeated.  The only loss I had this summer, 2 summers ago now, was against my team's #3 player.  He beat me in 3 sets.  I cut my shirt sleeves now.  I had restricted movement in my arms, due to my sleeves getting too sweaty and restricting my movement of my arms.  Now this problem is solved for a while now.
